Wspólne oświadczenie burmistrzów Dzierżoniowa, Crewe i Bischofsheim o ataku na Ukrainę
W odniesieniu do aktualnych wydarzeń w Ukrainie burmistrzowie miast partnerskich Crewe (Anglia), Bischofsheim (Niemcy) i Dzierżoniowa Tom Dunlop, Ingo Kalweit i Dariusz Kucharski wspólnie oświadczają:

Należy potępić niedawny atak na Ukrainę. Narusza on terytorialną niezależność niepodległego kraju i ignoruje fundamentalne zasady pokojowej międzynarodowej współpracy. Deklarujemy naszą solidarność z Ukrainkami i Ukraińcami uczestnicząc w ich cierpieniu i strachu.
Opowiadamy się po stronie tych, którzy nie tolerują bezprawia, opowiadają się przeciwko agresji i walczą o wolność, demokrację i prawa człowieka.
Naszą solidarność okazujemy także Rosjankom i Rosjanom, którzy w ostatnich dniach demonstrują w obronie praw człowieka i prawa międzynarodowego oraz pokojowym współistnieniem narodów, jak również narażają się odważnie na polityczne prześladowanie we własnym kraju.
Sprzeciwiamy się tym wszystkim, którzy traktują wojnę jako legalny środek do osiągnięcia politycznych celów, którzy poprzez forsowanie swoich własnych interesów pozbawiają swoich bliźnich wolności i podstawowych praw oraz dyskryminują innych pod względem kulturalnym, językowym czy społecznym.
Atak na Ukrainę jest także atakiem na wszystkie wartości, które łączą nas we wspólnej Europie. W tym sensie odnawiamy naszą wspólną deklarację za zachowaniem pokoju, zapewnieniem wolności i praworządności, poszanowaniem kulturalnej i językowej różnorodności oraz zahamowaniem dyskryminacji. Naszym celem jest zachowanie społecznej sprawiedliwości i stworzenie oraz utrzymanie dopiero co osiągniętego dobrobytu.
Kieruje nami przekonanie, iż przyszłość Europy może być kształtowana wyłącznie na podstawie wzajemnego zrozumienia i pokojowego współistnienia. Z tychże powodów wzywamy obywatelki i obywateli naszych miast do tego, aby w obliczu aktualnych wojennych wydarzeń w Europie przyłączyli się do tego wezwania i opowiedzieli się odważnie za pokojem, wolnością i demokracją.

Der aktuelle kriegerische Angriff gegen die Ukraine ist zu verurteilen. Er verletzt die territoriale Integrität eines souveränen Staates und missachtet die fundamentalen Grundlagen einer friedlichen internationalen Zusammenarbeit. Wir erklären uns solidarisch mit allen Ukrainerinnen und Ukrainern, indem wir Anteil nehmen an ihrem Leiden und an den vielfachen Ängsten.
Wir stehen an der Seite all derjenigen, die das Unrecht nicht hinnehmen, die sich gegen die Aggression zur Wehr setzen und die für Freiheit, Demokratie und Menschenrechte kämpfen. Unsere Solidarität gilt auch jenen Russinnen und Russen, die sich in diesen Tagen zur Wahrung der Menschenrechte und des Völkerrechts und zu einem friedlichen Miteinander der Völker und Nationen bekennen und die für ihr mutiges Eintreten politische Verfolgung im eigenen Land in Kauf nehmen.
Wir widersprechen all jenen, die Krieg als ein legitimes Mittel zur Erreichung politischer Ziele betrachten, die zur Durchsetzung einseitiger Interessen ihre Mitmenschen ihrer Freiheit und Grundrechte berauben und die andere kulturell, sprachlich oder sozial benachteiligen.
Der Angriff auf die Ukraine ist auch ein Angriff auf all die Werte, die uns in einem gemeinsamen Europa verbinden.
In diesem Sinne erneuern wir unser gemeinsames Bekenntnis zur Bewahrung des Friedens, zur Sicherung von Freiheit und Rechtsstaatlichkeit, zur Achtung kultureller und sprachlicher Vielfalt und zur Eindämmung von Diskriminierung, zum Ziel sozialer Gerechtigkeit und zum Aufbau und Erhalt eines breit verteilten Wohlstands.
Gemeinsam leitet uns die Überzeugung, dass die Zukunft Europas auch weiterhin nur auf der Grundlage gegenseitiger Verständigung und friedlich gestaltet werden kann. Aus dieser Grundhaltung rufen wir die Bürgerinnen und Bürger unserer Städte dazu auf, im Angesicht der aktuellen kriegerischen Ereignisse in Europa sich diesem Bekenntnis anzuschließen und mutig für Frieden, Freiheit und Demokratie einzutreten.

A joint statement with our friends and twin municipalities of Bischofsheim and Dzierzoniów. The recent martial attack on Ukraine is to be condemned. It is violating the territorial integrity of a free country and flouts the fundamental principles of a peaceful international cooperation.
I express our solidarity with the Ukrainian people by showing our solicitousness of their suffering and fears. We stand united with all who are not willing to accept the destruction, who are opposing the aggression and fight for freedom, democracy and human rights.
Among that, our solidarity also reaches out to those Russians who confess to protecting human rights, international law and a peaceful coexistence of people and nations and take the risk of political persecution in their country these days. We object to all those that consider war a legitimate instrument for reaching political goals, that take freedom and human rights from their fellow human beings in order to enforce their own one-sided interests and penalise others by cultural, linguistic or social means.
The attack on Ukraine is also an attack on all values we share in Europe. For these reasons, we renew our mutual confession to keeping up peace; securing of freedom and the rule of law; respect of cultural and linguistic diversity and containment of discrimination; pursuing the goal of social fairness as well as building and securing wide spread prosperity. We share the belief, that Europe‘s future can only be formed on the basis of peaceful and mutual understanding. Based on this, we invite the citizens of our towns facing the current martial events in Europe to join us in this confession and to bravely stand up for peace, freedom and democracy.
